Biomarker Discovery company Exonox Biosciences, Inc. today announced the development of its Exonox®Renal, a dual biomarkers RUO-ready ELISA test our two biomarkers, the biomarkers that allows real-time assessment of kidney function with a simple urine test. The test is made available on the any company's ELISA plate readers that uses non-invasive urine samples without provided-processing, requires about two-hour hands-on-time, delivers test results after reading by regular plate reader and can be flexibly deployed in laboratories or near-patient settings such as intensive care units (ICUs) and Emergency Departments (EDs) with Exonox®Renal kit.

In a study on more than 180 patients with 4 KDIGO (Kidney Disease Improving Global Outcomes) categories from a Taiwan Biobank, Exonox®Renal has been demonstrated to be a surrogate biomarker for glomerular filtration rate (eGFR), the gold standard to assess kidney function. In contrast to the other marker currently use in clinics, Exonox®Renal is a better predictor of worsening and improving kidney function independently from co-morbidities and inflammation.
