WCC Biomedical, established in 2014, is a leading researcher and manufacturer of microneedles. The company was founded by Dr. Ta-Jo, Liu, who holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from New York University. Dr. Liu is also a distinguished professor at National Tsing Hua University and the president of Formosa Advanced Coating Technology Inc.

Under Dr. Liu’s leadership, WCC Biomedical has grown rapidly. Initially focused on developing microneedle or microarray patches (MAPs) for cosmetic use, the company has expanded into healthcare, drug, and vaccine delivery. MAPs are a novel transdermal drug delivery system that is pursued by global organizations and scholars because of their ability to overcome the limitations of existing delivery methods.

WCC’s success is driven by the WINMAP™ platform, which was developed by Dr. Liu and his R&D team. This platform efficiently incorporates various drugs into microneedles. Additionally, WCC is the only Taiwanese company recognized by the international healthcare organization PATH. Taiwanese media have dubbed WCC as the star of Taiwan in the pharmaceutical industry.
