Magneto-optical immunoassay technology
Our laboratory has developed an ultrasensitive magneto-optical immunoassay technique utilizing magneto-optical Faraday effect, surface plasmon resonance, and magnetic nanoparticles. This technique can be applied to the detection of proteins, antibodies, and nucleic acids. In clinical trials, it has been demonstrated that this method can measure tau protein levels in plasma with a detection limit as low as 9 pg/mL, successfully distinguishing Alzheimer's disease patients from healthy individuals. Additionally, this technique has been employed to detect specific miRNAs in serum, achieving a minimum detection limit of 0.27 aM, and can effectively differentiate between healthy individuals, those with mild cognitive impairment, and Alzheimer's disease patients. The advantages of this technique include simplicity of operation, short measurement time, high sensitivity, and ease of adaptation for detecting other types of biomarkers.
