Exhibitor Profile
Inhibiting brain inflammation to treat brain injury has long been an unmet clinical need. Modulation of macrophage phenotype from M1 to M2 to have anti-inflammatory and repairing effects in brain has not been achieved. We discovered that CX antibody (Ab) can modulate macrophages/microglial cells toward M2 phenotype to curb inflammation and treat intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). In mouse model, Intravenous (IV) injection of CX Ab 3 hours post ICH or intracerebral ventricle injection can modulate infiltrated microglia/macrophages toward M2 phenotype to inhibit inflammation in brain. IV injection of CX Ab to reduce brain inflammation is a novel approach for treating hemorrhagic stroke. (US and Taiwan patents).
