Levitronix® has developed a revolutionary inline viscometer that has no bearings to wear out or seals to break. Inside the viscometer casing, a magnetically levitated rotor spins inside the fluid. The torque required to drive the rotor is dependent on the viscosity of the fluid: the higher the viscosity, the higher is the torque. A high precision torque sensor inside the bearingless drive unit continuously measures the torque, which is converted to dynamic viscosity. The absence of bearing friction and wear due to the Maglev technology, together with the high-performance control and measurement electronics, ensures extremely high repeatability.

Viscosity measurement range: 0.8cP – 450cP
