DS MAP is one of several products that WCC is currently focusing on the development. This microarray patch (MAP) incorporates Diclofenac Sodium as its active pharmaceutical ingredient (API), which is commonly known for its pain-relief properties. Diclofenac Sodium is widely available in several forms such as topical, transdermal, and oral. The advantage of incorporating diclofenac sodium into a microneedle is that the drug performance is quicker than topical and transdermal forms, as the API is delivered directly under the skin. Furthermore, the pain relief lasts longer than the oral form. So far, we have conducted pre-clinical experimental studies, and microarray patches have shown superior results compared to the existing topical form of diclofenac sodium.
