Characteristic
Tissue fibrosis is a disease leading to disability and death; however, no treatment for fibrosis is available. Transforming growth factor (TGF)-β is a major pro-fibrotic cytokine, which is an important target in the treatment of fibrosis. A bispecific drug targeting fibronectin and TGF-β was designed. Systemic delivery of the drug reduced renal collagen content and the expression of key fibrotic genes in a mouse model.
