IL-2 or IL-2 variants that specifically promote Treg can restore immune tolerance, thus reducing disease symptom and provide durable efficacy to achieve sustained remission in patients with autoimmune diseases. PEC-PEG-IL-2 is a stable, potent, and safe molecule as compared to the competitors in Treg expansion in patients. Thus, it has a great potential to be the BiC IL2 molecule in autoimmune disease. Besides acting as a therapy to slow down disease progression, our PEG-IL-2 has the potential to “cure” disease (induce long-term remission). This will significantly improve patients' quality of life.
