Characteristic
【Characteristic】
The feature of our product is to promote neuronal regeneration and functional recovery after brain damage. Approximately 70 million individuals suffered from brain damage EVERY YEAR. However, there is no effective drug can promote neuronal regeneration for patients suffered from brain damage. Therefore, our team set up a drug screening platform to select the candidate compounds that can promote neurite re-growth and thus restore circuit function after brain damage. We have identified several small-molecule compounds that can promote neuronal regeneration after mechanical injury of injured brain neurons and tissue, named NRC-1 to NRC-9. The efficacy of these compounds is being verified using in vitro primary neurons, ex vivo brain slice culture and in vivo animal work. The administration route is through intranasal delivery of small-molecule compounds or given on the injury sites during the acute phase of brain injury. Patients with brain damage also showed three-fold increased risk of developing into neurodegenerative diseases compared to normal individuals. Thus, NRCs could potentially decrease the risk of patients progressing into neurodegenerative diseases after brain injury.
