French laboratory automation manufacturer Alliance Bio Expertise announces the release of two automated media preparators — MEDIAWEL 10 and MEDIAWEL 30 — developed to improve efficiency, reproducibility, and traceability in culture media preparation for microbiology, food testing, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology laboratories.

MEDIAWEL 10 is designed for small- to medium-scale, routine media preparation where multiple formulations and smaller batch volumes are common. Its automated process precisely controls heating, temperature, and stirring to ensure complete dissolution and homogeneity of culture media and broths. A dual magnetic stirring system maintains temperature variation within ±0.5 °C throughout the vessel, significantly reducing batch-to-batch variability.

MEDIAWEL 30 addresses laboratories with higher throughput requirements, offering increased single-batch capacity while maintaining excellent mixing uniformity and temperature accuracy at larger volumes. The system supports multiple programmable preparation cycles, enabling users to switch efficiently between different media formulations according to laboratory needs.

Both units feature an intuitive touchscreen interface that can be operated with gloved hands, real-time process monitoring, and USB data export to strengthen process traceability and quality control. Integrated safety mechanisms — including automatic lid locking at high temperatures and pressure management — ensure reliable and safe daily operation. The stainless-steel construction further supports hygienic workflows and easy cleaning in aseptic environments.

The MEDIAWEL series replaces labor-intensive manual steps such as manual weighing, autoclaving, and vessel cleaning with a standardized automated workflow.
