As consumers become increasingly health-conscious, the health supplement market is gradually shifting from a“function-oriented”approach to an“experience-oriented”one. In addition to ingredients and efficacy, taste, convenience, and overall consumption experience are becoming key factors influencing long-term consumer use. Among emerging formats, jelly supplements—combining enjoyable flavor with convenience—have rapidly gained market attention and become a growing trend in the health supplement industry.
Compared with traditional capsules, tablets, and powder sachets, jelly supplements are easier to consume and reduce swallowing discomfort, making them especially popular among children, office workers, seniors, and younger consumers. The rise of“supplement snacking”and“consumer-friendly dosage forms” also reflects changing expectations toward daily wellness products—health supplements are no longer viewed solely as functional products, but are also expected to provide enjoyment and a sense of lifestyle experience.
At this year’s Asia Bio Innovation Expo, Jowin Biopharma INC (brand: SmartJet) introduced its new Defense Jelly and Calcium Jelly products. Presented in a convenient ready-to-eat jelly format, the products combine functional wellness support with sensory enjoyment, aiming to make daily health supplementation easier and more natural. During product development, the team underwent repeated formulation testing and flavor optimization, focusing not only on palatability and smooth texture, but also on ingredient combinations and overall product performance, with the goal of creating a wellness experience that is“not only delicious, but also truly effective.”
Founder Dr. Chiang stated that consumer expectations for health supplements have evolved beyond simple nutritional supplementation toward products people are “willing to consume consistently every day.” Therefore, achieving the right balance between taste, convenience, and functionality has become a key direction in product development. Moving forward, the brand will continue advancing through dosage-form innovation and formula optimization, bringing health supplements closer to everyday life while meeting consumers’dual expectations for wellness and quality.
