Characteristic

 

Conductivity meters can be used to measure the conductivity and total ion concentration of solutions in the field or in the laboratory. Although it cannot identify specific ions, it can quickly reflect the total amount of all ions and is one of the simplest solution testing tools.
Common uses include:
Analyze the state of ions and molecules in water, such as comparing the strength of weak acids and weak bases and the degree of ion dissociation.
Determining the relationship between conductivity and ion concentration can be used to estimate the concentration of unknown samples.
Detects changes in electrical conductivity caused by photosynthesis in aquatic plants, such as a drop in bicarbonate concentration.
Fixed point monitoring of total dissolved solids (TDS) in rivers or lakes.
The rate of chemical reactions or the speed of ions passing through a membrane can be tracked through changes in conductivity.
Monitor conductivity and TDS changes in fish tanks due to photosynthesis or respiration.
