Nitric oxide (NO) is a major regulator of numerous physiological pathways. Our team has created a precision NO-delivery platform that delivers reproducible benefits in corneal preservation, stem-cell expansion, neurodegeneration, chronic-wound healing, cardiovascular, bone repair, anti-aging, and oncology.
At BIO Asia, we showcase two products powered by this platform. (1) Corneal storage media: Stimulates endothelial-cell proliferation and activates cytoprotective signaling, preserving cell density and viability even under the inflammatory and oxidative stress that threaten post‑transplant graft success. (2) Stem Cell Culture Medium: Accelerates stem-cell expansion while shielding cells from oxidative injury, shortening cell expansion timelines and yielding larger quantities of high-quality stem cells. Together, these products translate our NO technology from bench to bedside, advancing regenerative medicine and ophthalmic care.
**R & D team/Company Profile**
Our team is a joint collaboration between Professor Tsai-Te Lu from the Institute of Biomedical Engineering at National Tsing Hua University (biomedical engineering) and Dr. Hung-Chi Chen, Director of Cornea at Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital (clinical strategy). With expertise spanning formulation development and clinical trials, we have successfully developed a nitric oxide delivery technology, resulting in 6 granted patents and 14 SCI-indexed publications.
Selected by the SPARK Program at FJCU, NTHU, and NTUST, we are currently advancing through proof-of-concept and prototyping stages. Leveraging a robust clinical network and the commercialization know-how of SPARK mentors, our mission is to bring Taiwan's innovative corneal preservation solutions and stem cell culture media to the global market.
