This technology platform consists of two core technology, MPGene and shGEL-X. MPGene is a non-viral magnetic gene transfection technology. Compared with the commercially available reagents, MPGene displayed much higher transfection efficiency (50-80% vs 10-25%) on human mesenchymal stem cells. shGEL-X is an injectable hydrogel system, which is designated to improve stem cell transplantation efficiency. The hydrogel technology possesses many advantages on cell therapy applications, including injectability, cell protection, biodegradability, and low production cost.
**R & D team/Company Profile**
Our team, led by Professor Chien-Wen Chang from the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Environmental Sciences at National Tsing Hua University, focuses on the fields of nanomedicine and stem cell engineering. We are dedicated to developing innovative non-viral gene delivery techniques and biomaterials for applications in regenerative medicine and precision therapy. By integrating materials science, molecular biology, and translational research, the team addresses key challenges in central nervous system injury, cancer immunotherapy, and cartilage repair. Professor Chang has extensive interdisciplinary research experience and leads students in the development of novel magnetic transfection platforms for stem cell genetic modification and functional tissue regeneration. With a strong emphasis on clinically driven research strategies, our team maintains close collaborations with domestic medical institutions, aiming to accelerate the development and implementation of advanced therapies through cross-disciplinary integration.
