Key breakthroughs and opportunities in boron neutron therapy technology
Boron neutron capture therapy (BNCT) is a cutting-edge cancer treatment technology that is gradually showing results in Taiwan. It has the advantages of accurately bombarding tumors and reducing damage to normal tissues. At present, its application is mostly concentrated on head and neck cancer. If it can be successfully expanded to other cancers in the future, its clinical application and market potential will be greatly expanded. Taking lung cancer as an example, the number of new cases in Taiwan exceeds 16,000 per year. If BNCT treatment can be introduced, it will benefit a large number of patients.
However, the biggest challenge at this stage is the development and delivery of "boron drugs". More precisely, how to accurately direct boron drugs to tumor sites and specific organs. Boron Kang Technology is focusing on the development of highly effective lung cancer-targeted boron dosage forms. Experimental data show that more than 70% of boron drugs can accumulate in lung metastatic tumors, showing a high potential for integration with BNCT technology.
In order to achieve this technological breakthrough and accelerate clinical application, it is currently urgent to supplement R&D and clinical advancement talents to jointly promote the next wave of cancer treatment innovation.
**R & D team/Company Profile**
The core technical team is led by Professor Hu at National Tsing Hua University. The team has more than ten years of experience in the development of new dosage forms and new drugs. It has successfully developed a gene drug delivery platform for lung cancer and brain tumors, and can effectively induce immune responses. He has long been committed to the translation of academic research results and the implementation of innovative technologies, providing solid support for the team's technology realization and industrial application.
