A Method Using an Organoid Model to Screen Antiviral Drugs Against Human Parechovirus
Category: *Precision Health & Smart Medical
Exhibitor: NATIONAL DEFENSE MEDICAL UNIVERSITY
Booth No: 7
Characteristic
This invention utilizes human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC)–derived organoids as a research and development platform for anti-encephalitis virus drugs. Human organoids replicate the three-dimensional structure and diverse cellular composition of real organs, providing a closer approximation to the physiological environment of human organs. This study successfully demonstrates that brain organoids can be infected by neurotropic viruses, and that treatment with interferons and antiviral drugs effectively suppresses viral infection, highlighting their industry potential as a platform for antiviral drug screening.
