It detects muscle mass through the principle of sound wave conduction, achieving an accuracy rate of 90%, echoing the concepts of measuring blood pressure and blood sugar.
Muscle atrophy can lead to muscle weakness, affecting people's quality of life, increasing the risk of falls, and even causing death. In addition to muscle atrophy caused by long-term rest after surgery, muscle atrophy often occurs with age, especially in people who lack exercise in their early years, known as sarcopenia. Early detection and treatment not only save time and effort but also save money. However, who would notice their own muscle loss when it doesn't affect their daily life? Moreover, current detection methods rely too much on subjective judgments of physicians and lack objective criteria. If professional instruments are used for detection, they are too expensive and cumbersome. Therefore, our team conceived the Intelligent Muscle Sound Detection Device, combining acoustic technology with AI methods. Muscle mass assessment can be conducted in the clinic, with results available within 60 seconds. Objective data assist physicians in diagnosis and provide patients with tangible evidence of their rehabilitation progress, solving previous detection problems and bringing smart healthcare into the clinic, thereby improving medical efficiency. If the development progresses well, we also hope to include it in health checkups, helping people regularly assess muscle health, or incorporate it into fitness centers to help people evaluate their fitness progress.
