Neuro-Link Smart Dementia Care Neuromodulation System is a non-invasive wearable solution designed for elderly dementia care and behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSD) risk management. The system integrates a head-mounted light-and-sound actuation unit with a neck-worn computing and reference sensing unit. By using head–neck differential IMU sensing, it filters out motion artifacts caused by walking, posture changes, and daily movements, reducing false alarms commonly seen in single-sensor wearable systems.

The system adopts a hierarchical triggering architecture. In the first stage, low-power IMU sensors continuously monitor behavioral patterns. When suspicious movements such as anxious rocking, wandering, or abnormal head motion are detected, the system activates the ear-EEG module for second-stage physiological verification. This dual validation mechanism combines behavioral and brainwave signals to improve the accuracy of BPSD risk detection while reducing power consumption and long-term wearing burden.

For intervention, Neuro-Link combines retinal rhythm lighting, bone-conduction acoustic resonance, and personalized calming voice guidance. The system supports routine circadian care modes, including morning activation, daytime rhythm regulation, and evening calming support. When a suspected BPSD event is detected, it can activate warm breathing-guided light, low-frequency bone-conduction soothing stimulation, and family-recorded voice prompts to support early intervention and reduce caregiver burden.

The key innovations of Neuro-Link include dynamic motion artifact rejection, behavior–EEG dual verification, and closed-loop multimodal light-and-sound soothing support. Compared with conventional activity monitors or reminder devices, Neuro-Link is designed to better distinguish normal daily movement from possible agitation-related behavior, providing a lightweight, low-power, and comfortable smart care solution for dementia care facilities, day care centers, long-term care institutions, and home-based elderly care.
